Overview

This page provides an overview of the linux-based computing resources in the PSELab (Physical Sciences and Engineering). The central server for files and applications is the gemini server, gemini1.pselab.uq.edu.au. It is named gemini1 to distinguish it from its former twin server gemini2 which now fulfils another role. The gemini server sits behind a firewall on the PSELab network but is available from all over the world via the ssh protocol.

The PSELab linux workstations run Fedora Core 4. The user accounts and disk space are served from gemini1. Any users with accounts on gemini1 can use the workstations in Rm 45-206. Any new clients for the workstations or gemini server should contact Andrew Denman or Rowan Gollan. In the interests of keeping spam from our INBOXes we won't put our email addresses up here.
