FOR HYPERSONICS
are
-
to provide visible international leadership in the centre's areas of expertise,
-
to maintain a high level of activity in both fundamental and applied research,
-
to provide graduate and undergraduate training opportunities of the highest
international standards and
to play a pivotal role as collaborators in major international projects.
Areas of expertise
-
Development of hypervelocity test facilities
-
SCRAMjet propulsion (experiment, analysis and design)
-
Rocket flight testing
-
Aerothermodynamic experimentation and analysis
-
Advanced instrumentation for aerodynamic measurements
-
Computational fluid dynamic analysis of hypervelocity flows
-
Optical diagnostics for hypervelocity superorbital flows
Fluids Discussion Group
Fluids Discussion Group seminars are held each week
at 1pm in room 45-104. At each session a member of staff or postgraduate
student undertaking research in the general area of fluid mechanics at
UQ or a visiting researcher chooses a topic for discussion and makes a
presentation. Topics are varied and the discussions are quite informal.
Anyone interested is welcome to attend. If you wish to be added to
the list of speakers, contact David
Mee.
The current schedule for discussion leaders is
available at:

CENTRE FOR
HYPERSONICS Reference Database
The Centre maintains a database of references relevant to hypersonics.
Copies of selected papers, reports, etc. are cataloged and stored in room
45-207. The database is maintained online and can be accessed by
members of the Centre via the password-
controlled site at:
http://www.mech.uq.edu.au/hyperrefdb
CENTRE FOR
HYPERSONICS Wiki
The Centre maintains a Wiki site for sharing resources withing the group.
The Wiki site can be accessed by members of the Centre via the password-controlled
site at:
http://www.mech.uq.edu.au/hyperwiki
CENTRE FOR
HYPERSONICS Presentation Template
A PowerPoint template for presentations from the CENTRE
FOR HYPERSONICS
is available here.
