Conditional Methods in application to combustion in porous media
In principle, combustion in porous media can be simulated directly but calculating a reacting fluid flow in each of a large number of micropores represents an unachievable task even for most powerful computers. Although accurate evaluation of reactions in multi-phase porous media is possible at a much more modest computational cost. The direct simulation is performed only within a relatively small sample domain and then the evaluated properties of the flow are used to model the reacting flow in the rest of the media.
